Maryvale Panthers (Phoenix, AZ) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Westview Knights (Avondale, AZ), 23-13 in a non-league challenge.

The Panthers now sport a 3-12 record. They take the field next when they host South Mountain for a 6A Metro challenge on Thursday, April 14. Maryvale will face a Jaguars squad coming off a 34-1 non-league loss to Kofa (Yuma, AZ). The Jaguars record now stands at 1-13.

With the loss, Westview falls to 0-14 on the campaign. The Knights host Browne (Phoenix, AZ) to face the Bruins in a non-league challenge on Friday, April 15. The Bruins enter the challenge with a record of 8-9. Browne won 13-4 in their recent league challenge against Cesar Chavez (Laveen, AZ)
