Altamont Indians (Altamont, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Bobcats (Cowden, IL), 8-3 in a league challenge.

The Indians now own a 5-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Newton for a non-league challenge on Friday, April 14. Altamont will face a Eagles squad coming off a 3-2 league win over Marshall (Marshall, IL). The Eagles record now stands at 11-1.

With the loss, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City falls to 0-6 on the campaign. The Bobcats travel to Ramsey (Ramsey, IL) to face the Rams in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 15. The Rams enter the challenge with a record of 1-4. Ramsey won 12-5 in their recent league challenge against Brownstown/St. Elmo (St. Elmo, IL)
