Ripley Vikings (Ripley, WV) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Hurricane Redskins (Hurricane, WV), 4-2 in a league challenge.

The Vikings now own a 5-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to East Fairmont for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 15. Ripley will battle a Bees squad coming off a 14-6 league loss to Liberty (Clarksburg, WV). The Bees record now stands at 2-14.

With the loss, Hurricane falls to 5-8 on the campaign. The Redskins travel to South Charleston (South Charleston, WV) to battle the Black Eagles in a Mountain State challenge on Friday, April 14. The Black Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 4-7. South Charleston lost 10-0 in their recent league challenge against St. Albans (St. Albans, WV)
