The Germantown Mavericks baseball team scored 6 runs and limited the visiting Pearl Pirates to 5 in the Mavericks non-league victory on Saturday.
The Mavericks (18-6) will now prepare for their match against West Monroe (West Monroe, LA). The Rebels go into the non-league match with a 25-8 record. In their last match, West Monroe tipped Ruston (Ruston, LA), 14-3, in a league match.
The Pirates (3-17) will now prepare for their match against Meridian (Meridian, MS). The Wildcats go into the 7A Region 3 match with a 2-23 record. In their last match, Meridian was edged by Raleigh (Raleigh, MS), 9-8, in a non-league match.
