Illinois High School Softball - Freeburg bounces Gillespie

The Freeburg Midgets (Freeburg, IL) softball routed the visiting Gillespie Miners (Gillespie, IL), 13-3 in Saturday's non-league bout.

The Midgets (15-2) will now prepare for their bout against Roxana (Roxana, IL). The Shells go into the Cahokia - Mississippi bout with a 8-3 record. In their last bout, Roxana notched a victory over Salem (Salem, IL), 8-2, in a league bout.

The Miners now possess a 14-4 record. They play next when they host Mater Dei for a non-league bout on Monday, April 15. Gillespie will confront a Knights squad coming off a 6-2 non-league loss to Richland County (Olney, IL). The Knights record now stands at 9-4.
