Highland Baptist Christian Bears (New Iberia, LA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting St. Edmund Fighting Blue Jays (Eunice, LA), 8-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Bears now own a 13-13 record. They take the field next when they travel to Riverside Academy for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 17. Highland Baptist Christian will battle a Rebels squad coming off a 22-0 league win over West St. John (Edgard, LA). The Rebels record now stands at 18-8.

With the loss, St. Edmund falls to 9-10 on the campaign.
