Spectators at Saturday's league match between the John Marshall Monarchs (Glen Dale, WV) and the host Steubenville Big Red (Steubenville, OH), witnessed John Marshall's softball squad tip Steubenville by a count of 16-11.

The Monarchs now sport a 15-2 record. They play next when they host Wheeling Park for a Two Rivers match on Saturday, April 13. John Marshall will meet a Patriots squad coming off a 9-2 league loss to University (Morgantown, WV). The Patriots record now stands at 6-10.

With the loss, Steubenville moves to 7-4 on the season. The Big red host Weir (Weirton, WV) to meet the Red Riders in a match on Monday, April 15. The Red Riders go into the match with a record of 14-7. Weir lost 12-2 in their recent league match against Edison (Richmond, OH)
