Phillips Bears (Bear Creek, AL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Covenant Christian Eagles (Tuscumbia, AL), 13-7 in a non-league challenge.

The Bears now own a 3-16 record. They take the field next when they travel to Shoals Christian for a non-league challenge on Monday, April 18. Phillips will battle a Flame squad coming off a 18-2 league loss to Cherokee (Cherokee, AL). The Flame record now stands at 1-6.

With the loss, Covenant Christian falls to 2-7 on the campaign. The Eagles host Sheffield (Sheffield, AL) to battle the Bulldogs in a non-league challenge on Monday, April 18. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 1-8. Sheffield lost 17-1 in their recent league challenge against Lexington (Lexington, AL)
