Fort Meade Miners (Fort Meade, FL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Ridge Community Bolts (Davenport, FL), 8-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Miners now own a 9-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Winter Haven for a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 21.

With the loss, Ridge Community falls to 7-7 on the campaign. The Bolts host Lakeland (Lakeland, FL) to battle the Dreadnaughts in a 6A District 10 challenge on Tuesday, April 19. The Dreadnaughts enter the challenge with a record of 4-4. Lakeland lost 9-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Fort Meade (Fort Meade, FL)
