Smithville Seminoles (Smithville, MS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Sulligent Blue Devils (Sulligent, AL), 8-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Seminoles now own a 20-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Pontotoc for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 19. Smithville will battle a Warriors squad coming off a 6-1 league win over Ripley (Ripley, MS). The Warriors record now stands at 18-5.

With the loss, Sulligent falls to 7-10 on the campaign. The Blue devils host Winfield (Winfield, AL) to battle the Pirates in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 16. The Pirates enter the challenge with a record of 24-11. Winfield won 8-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Lamar County (Vernon, AL)
