Wheeling Central Catholic Maroon Knights (Wheeling, WV) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Brooke Bruins (Wellsburg, WV), 6-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Maroon Knights now own a 9-1 record. They take the field next when they host St. Marys for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 15. Wheeling Central Catholic will face a Blue Devils squad coming off a 8-1 league win over Tyler (Sistersville, WV). The Blue Devils record now stands at 17-1.

With the loss, Brooke falls to 3-12 on the campaign. The Bruins travel to Union Local (Belmont, OH) to face the Jets in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 15. The Jets enter the challenge with a record of 3-8. Union Local lost 15-2 in their recent league challenge against Cambridge (Cambridge, OH)
