Hammond Morton Governors (Hammond, IN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Thornton Fractional North Meteors (Calumet City, IL), 14-0 in a non-league challenge.
The Governors now own a 4-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Thornton Fractional South for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 15. Hammond Morton will battle a Red Wolves squad coming off a 12-0 league win over Blue Island Eisenhower (Blue Island, IL). The Red Wolves record now stands at 7-7.
With the loss, Thornton Fractional North falls to 1-8 on the campaign. The Meteors travel to Thornton Fractional South (Lansing, IL) to battle the Red Wolves in a South Suburban - Blue challenge on Tuesday, April 18. The Red Wolves enter the challenge with a record of 8-7.
