Spring Valley Timberwolves (Huntington, WV) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Russell Red Devils (Russell, KY), 5-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Timberwolves now own a 14-3 record. They take the field next when they host Hurricane for a Mountain State challenge on Monday, April 17. Spring Valley will battle a Redskins squad coming off a 12-11 non-league win over Franklin County (Frankfort, KY). The Redskins record now stands at 6-8.

With the loss, Russell falls to 7-12 on the campaign. The Red devils travel to Martin County (Inez, KY) to battle the Cardinals in a non-league challenge on Monday, April 17. The Cardinals enter the challenge with a record of 3-4. Martin County lost 10-0 in their recent league challenge against Paintsville (Paintsville, KY)
