Tremont Turks (Tremont, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Tri-Valley Vikings (Downs, IL), 16-4 in a league challenge.

The Turks now own a 6-2 record. They take the field next when they host Lincoln-Way Central for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 15. Tremont will battle a Knights squad coming off a 15-0 league win over Bolingbrook (Bolingbrook, IL). The Knights record now stands at 8-3.

With the loss, Tri-Valley falls to 7-4 on the campaign. The Vikings travel to Heyworth (Heyworth, IL) to battle the Hornets in a Heart of Illinois challenge on Monday, April 17. The Hornets enter the challenge with a record of 9-1. Heyworth won 12-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Okaw Valley (Bethany, IL)
