In Monday's non-league game, the host Mayflower Eagles baseball team scored a close 9-7 win over the Hazen Hornets.
The Eagles (5-14) will now prepare for their game against Dover (Dover, AR). The Pirates go into the 3A Region 5 game with a 12-4 record. In their last game, Dover nudged Bigelow (Bigelow, AR), 2-0, in a non-league game.
Next, the Hornets play the England Lions (England, AR) in a 2A Region 6 game, on Tuesday, April 15. Hazen will attempt to improve on its 3-10 season record. The Lions go into the game with a 2-7 record after their 19-2 league loss to Carlisle (Carlisle, AR).
