The Newport Greyhounds baseball team scored 15 runs and held the visiting Quitman Bulldogs to 12 in the Greyhounds non-league win on Monday.

The Greyhounds now own a 13-4 record. They take the field next when they host Manila for a 3A Region 3 test on Tuesday, April 15. Newport will clash with a Lions team coming off a 14-4 non-league win over West Memphis (West Memphis, AR). The Lions record now stands at 14-2.

With the defeat, Quitman drops to 7-8 on the year. The Bulldogs travel to White County Central (Judsonia, AR) to clash with the Bears in a 2A Region 5 test on Tuesday, April 15. The Bears go into the test with a record of 6-8. White County Central won 7-6 in their recent league test against Baptist Prep (Little Rock, AR)
