Fans at Monday's non-league battle between the Middle Tennessee Fire Fire (, TN) and the host Independence Eagles (Thompson's Station, TN), saw Middle Tennessee Fire's soccer squad hold off Independence by a count of 2-1.

The Fire (9-1) will now prepare for their battle against Montgomery Bell Academy (Nashville, TN). The Big Red enter the non-league battle with a 5-1 record. In their last battle, Montgomery Bell Academy tipped Ravenwood (Brentwood, TN), 1-0, in a non-league battle.
