In Monday's non-league test, the Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) softball squad overwhelmed the host McDowell Titans (Marion, NC), by a tally of 7-0.

Next, the Cougars clash with the Hibriten Panthers (Lenoir, NC) in a Northwestern 3A/4A test, on Tuesday, April 15. Alexander Central will attempt to advance on its 20-1 season record. The Panthers go into the test with a 12-6 record after their 17-3 league win over Watauga (Boone, NC).

The Titans (7-7) will now prepare for their test against R-S Central (Rutherfordton, NC). The Hilltoppers go into the non-league test with a 13-4 record. In their last test, R-S Central was routed by West Lincoln (Lincolnton, NC), 7-2, in a non-league test.
