The Ashton-Franklin Center Raiders softball squad (Ashton, IL), was edged 9-8 in Monday's non-league contest with the host South Beloit Sobos (South Beloit, IL)

With the triumph, South Beloit improves its record to 5-4 on the campaign. The Sobos travel to Alden-Hebron (Hebron, IL) to meet the Green Giants in a Northeastern Athletic Conference challenge on Tuesday, April 15. The Green Giants go into the challenge with a record of 0-3. Alden-Hebron lost 16-12 in their recent non-league challenge against Christian Liberty (Arlington Heights, IL)

The Raiders (2-12) will now prepare for their challenge against Eastland (Lanark, IL). The Cougars go into the NUIC South challenge with a 2-5 record. In their last challenge, Eastland was nudged by Pecatonica (Pecatonica, IL), 8-5, in a non-league challenge.
