The crowd at Monday's non-league bout between the Effingham Hearts (Effingham, IL) and the visiting Hillsboro Hiltoppers (Hillsboro, IL), observed Effingham's softball team prevail over Hillsboro by a tally of 10-2.

The Hearts (6-4) will now prepare for their bout against Robinson (Robinson, IL). The Maroons go into the non-league bout with a 10-6 record. In their last bout, Robinson knocked off Dieterich (Dieterich, IL), 3-2, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Hiltoppers clash with the Vandalia Vandals (Vandalia, IL) in a South Central bout, on Friday, April 18. Hillsboro will attempt to advance on its 4-8 season record. The Vandals go into the bout with a 3-8 record after their 17-3 league loss to Greenville (Greenville, IL).
