The Whiting Oilers softball team scored 18 runs and held the visiting Lake Station Edison Fighting Eagles to 0 in the Oilers league win on Monday.

The Oilers now possess a 3-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to River Forest for a Greater South Shore battle on Tuesday, April 15. Whiting will confront a Ingots team coming off a 14-0 league loss to Griffith (Griffith, IN). The Ingots record now stands at 4-1.

With the loss, Lake Station Edison moves to 0-4 on the season. The Fighting eagles host Hammond Bishop Noll (Hammond, IN) to confront the Warriors in a Greater South Shore battle on Tuesday, April 15. The Warriors come into the battle with a record of 3-0. Hammond Bishop Noll won 16-0 in their recent league battle against Calumet New Tech (Gary, IN)
