Ponaganset Chieftains (North Scituate, RI) supporters left the game pleased Monday as they saw their softball squad thwart the visiting St. Mary Academy-Bay View Bengals (East Providence, RI), 12-2 in a league game.

With the triumph, Ponaganset improves its record to 2-2 on the year. The Chieftains travel to Moses Brown (Providence, RI) to play the Quakers in a Division 1 game on Monday, April 21. The Quakers enter the game with a record of 0-2. Moses Brown lost 9-8 in their recent league game against Pilgrim (Warwick, RI)

The Bengals now hold a 1-4 record. They play next when they host East Providence for a Division 1 game on Thursday, April 17. St. Mary Academy-Bay View will play a Townies squad coming off a 5-4 league loss to North Kingstown (North Kingstown, RI). The Townies record now stands at 2-3.
