In Monday's non-league test, the Southwestern Piasa Birds (Piasa, IL) softball squad overwhelmed the visiting Roxana Shells (Roxana, IL), by a tally of 13-3.

Next, the Piasa Birds meet the North Mac Panthers (Virden, IL) in a South Central test, on Tuesday, April 15. Southwestern will attempt to advance on its 5-3 season record. The Panthers go into the test with a 0-8 record after their 7-0 league loss to Carlinville (Carlinville, IL).

The Shells (0-9) will now prepare for their test against Columbia (Columbia, IL). The Eagles go into the Cahokia - Mississippi test with a 7-2 record. In their last test, Columbia toppled Freeburg (Freeburg, IL), 11-1, in a league test.
