Blazer Tomcats (Ashland, KY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Frederick Douglass Broncos (Lexington, KY), 8-7 in a non-league challenge.

The Tomcats now own a 5-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Raceland for a non-league challenge on Monday, April 18. Blazer will battle a Rams squad coming off a 13-4 non-league loss to Cabell Midland (Ona, WV). The Rams record now stands at 3-4.

With the loss, Frederick Douglass falls to 2-4 on the campaign. The Broncos travel to Fleming County (Flemingsburg, KY) to battle the Panthers in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 16. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 4-7.
