In Friday's non-league contest, the Rio Linda Knights (Rio Linda, CA) softball team overwhelmed the host Laguna Creek Cardinals (Elk Grove, CA), by a margin of 9-2.

With the triumph, Rio Linda moves its record to 8-8 on the year. The Knights host Ponderosa (Shingle Springs, CA) to play the Bruins in a Foothill Valley League contest on Tuesday, April 19. The Bruins come into the contest with a record of 11-3. Ponderosa won 18-0 in their recent league contest against Placer (Auburn, CA)

In their next game, the Cardinals play the West Campus Warriors (Sacramento, CA) in a non-league contest, on Monday, April 18. Laguna Creek will attempt to move on its 4-10 season record. The Warriors come into the contest with a 3-2 record after their 19-1 league win over Florin (Sacramento, CA).
