In Saturday's non-league game, the host Valley Mills Eagles baseball team scored a tight 8-1 victory over the Abbott Panthers.
The Eagles (20-3) will now prepare for their game against Moody (Moody, TX). The Bearcats go into the 2A Region II District 14 game with a 11-4 record. In their last game, Moody was overwhelmed by Crawford (Crawford, TX), 12-2, in a league game.
The Panthers (12-3) will now prepare for their game against Avalon (Avalon, TX). The Eagles go into the 1A Region II District 15 game with a 4-9 record. In their last game, Avalon tipped Milford (Milford, TX), 16-4, in a league game.
