The Asheboro Blue Comets got by the host Northern Guilford Nighthawks baseball team by a count of 2-1 in Saturday's non-league bout.
The Blue Comets now possess a 8-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Ledford for a Mid-Piedmont 3A bout on Tuesday, April 18. Asheboro will face a Panthers team coming off a 7-3 league win over Oak Grove (Winston-Salem, NC). The Panthers record now stands at 14-1.
Next, the Nighthawks face the Western Guilford Hornets (Greensboro, NC) in a Metro 4A bout, on Tuesday, April 18. Northern Guilford will attempt to move on its 4-11 season record. The Hornets enter the bout with a 1-14 record after their 29-12 non-league loss to Chatham Central (Bear Creek, NC).
