Hamburg Hawks (Hamburg, PA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Blue Mountain Eagles (Schuylkill Haven, PA), 5-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Hawks now own a 3-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Brandywine Heights Area for a Berks County 3 challenge on Monday, April 17. Hamburg will battle a Bullets squad coming off a 17-2 league win over Oley Valley (Oley, PA). The Bullets record now stands at 1-0.

With the loss, Blue Mountain falls to 8-2 on the campaign. The Eagles host Tamaqua (Tamaqua, PA) to battle the Blue Raiders in a Schuylkill I challenge on Monday, April 17. The Blue Raiders enter the challenge with a record of 2-5. Tamaqua won 17-0 in their recent league challenge against Jim Thorpe (Jim Thorpe, PA)
