The Independence Eagles softball team scored 5 runs and limited the visiting Marshall County Tigers to 3 in the Eagles non-league triumph on Saturday.

With the triumph, Independence improves its record to 8-12 on the year. The Eagles travel to Centennial (Franklin, TN) to clash with the Cougars in a non-league game on Monday, April 17. The Cougars come into the game with a record of 13-7. Centennial won 7-0 in their recent league game against Hillsboro (Nashville, TN)

In their next game, the Tigers clash with the Lawrence County Wildcats (Lawrenceburg, TN) in a 3A District 8 game, on Monday, April 17. Marshall County will attempt to improve on its 7-11 season record. The Wildcats come into the game with a 2-8 record after their 7-4 non-league loss to Loretto (Loretto, TN).
