The Mahtomedi Zephyrs softball team scored 8 runs and limited the host Pine Island Panthers to 5 in the Zephyrs non-league triumph on Saturday.

With the triumph, Mahtomedi improves its record to 1-1 on the year. The Zephyrs host South St. Paul (South St. Paul, MN) to clash with the Packers in a non-league game on Tuesday, April 18. The Packers come into the game with a record of 1-2. South St. Paul won 12-0 in their recent non-league game against Highland Park (St. Paul, MN)

In their next game, the Panthers clash with the Kasson-Mantorville Komets (Kasson, MN) in a Hiawatha Valley game, on Thursday, April 20. Pine Island will attempt to better on its 1-1 season record.
