Maine High School Softball - South Portland nudges Mt. Ararat

South Portland Red Riots (South Portland, ME) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Mt. Ararat Eagles (Topsham, ME), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.
The Red Riots now own a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they host Portland for a Class A South challenge on Friday, April 21.
With the loss, Mt. Ararat falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Eagles host Oxford Hills (South Paris, ME) to battle the Vikings in a Class A North challenge on Monday, May 1. The Vikings enter the challenge with a record of 0-0.
