The crowd at Saturday's non-league match between the Woodland Regional Hawks (Beacon Falls, CT) and the visiting Pomperaug Panthers (Southbury, CT), saw Woodland Regional's softball squad nip Pomperaug by a count of 7-0.

The Hawks now sport a 6-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Derby for a Naugatuck Valley - Brass match on Monday, April 17. Woodland Regional will face a Red Raiders squad coming off a 19-16 league win over Kennedy (Waterbury, CT). The Red Raiders record now stands at 2-5.

With the loss, Pomperaug falls to 4-3 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Newtown (Newtown, CT) to face the Nighthawks in a non-league match on Monday, April 17. The Nighthawks enter the match with a record of 6-0. Newtown won 9-0 in their recent non-league match against Waterford (Waterford, CT)
