In Monday's league contest, the Chireno Owls (Chireno, TX) softball team overwhelmed the visiting Zavalla Eagles (Zavalla, TX), by a margin of 18-3.

With the triumph, Chireno moves its record to 2-5 on the year. The Owls host Broaddus (Broaddus, TX) to play the Bulldogs in a 2A Region III District 23 contest on Tuesday, April 16. The Bulldogs come into the contest with a record of 6-15. Broaddus lost 5-0 in their recent league contest against Woden (Woden, TX)

In their next game, the Eagles play the Brookeland Wildcats (Brookeland, TX) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, April 16. Zavalla will attempt to move on its 4-8 season record. The Wildcats come into the contest with a 16-3 record after their 29-1 league win over Burkeville (Burkeville, TX).
