The crowd at Monday's non-league match between the Patriot Pioneers (Nokesville, VA) and the visiting Colonial Forge Eagles (Stafford, VA), saw Patriot's softball squad nip Colonial Forge by a count of 9-8.

The Pioneers now sport a 5-4 record. They take the field next when they host Osbourn Park for a Cedar Run match on Tuesday, April 16. Patriot will face a Yellowjackets squad coming off a 10-0 league win over Gainesville (Gainesville, VA). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 7-0.

With the loss, Colonial Forge falls to 2-8 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Stafford (Falmouth, VA) to face the Indians in a Commonwealth match on Tuesday, April 16. The Indians enter the match with a record of 3-4. Stafford lost 9-0 in their recent league match against Mountain View (Stafford, VA)
