Waterbury Career Academy Spartans (Waterbury, CT) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Derby Red Raiders (Derby, CT), 19-4 in a league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 2-5 record. They take the field next when they host Kennedy for a Naugatuck Valley - Brass challenge on Wednesday, April 17. Waterbury Career Academy will face a Eagles squad coming off a 29-22 league loss to Crosby (Waterbury, CT). The Eagles record now stands at 1-3.

With the loss, Derby falls to 3-3 on the campaign. The Red raiders travel to Harding (Bridgeport, CT) to meet the Presidents in a non-league match on Wednesday, April 17. The Presidents go into the match with a record of 0-4. Harding lost 23-3 in their recent non-league match against Stratford (Stratford, CT)
