Sangamon Valley/Tri-City Storm (Niantic, IL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central Bluejays (Petersburg, IL), 8-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Storm now sport a 13-3 record. They take the field next when they host North Mac for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 17. Sangamon Valley/Tri-City will face a Panthers squad coming off a 15-0 league win over Vandalia (Vandalia, IL). The Panthers record now stands at 9-6.

With the loss, PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central falls to 11-5 on the campaign. The Bluejays travel to New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly (New Berlin, IL) to face the Vipers in a Sangamo challenge on Tuesday, April 16. The Vipers enter the challenge with a record of 0-8. New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly lost 12-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Jacksonville (Jacksonville, IL)
