Thornton Fractional North Meteors (Calumet City, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Thornwood Thunderbirds (South Holland, IL), 18-12 in a non-league challenge.

The Meteors now own a 3-7 record. They take the field next when they host Thornton Fractional South for a South Suburban - Blue challenge on Tuesday, April 16. Thornton Fractional North will face a Red Wolves squad coming off a 13-0 league loss to Tinley Park (Tinley Park, IL). The Red Wolves record now stands at 4-9.

With the loss, Thornwood falls to 0-5 on the campaign. The Thunderbirds host Goode STEM Academy (Chicago, IL) to face the Knights in a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 18. The Knights enter the challenge with a record of 3-3. Goode STEM Academy won 19-3 in their recent league challenge against Kelly (Chicago, IL)
