South Putnam Eagles (Greencastle, IN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Cloverdale Clovers (Cloverdale, IN), 6-2 in a league challenge.

The Eagles now own a 3-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Greencastle for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 16. South Putnam will battle a Tiger Cubs squad coming off a 10-9 league loss to Northview (Brazil, IN). The Tiger Cubs record now stands at 2-4.

With the loss, Cloverdale falls to 1-2 on the campaign. The Clovers travel to Indian Creek (Trafalgar, IN) to battle the Braves in a Western Indiana challenge on Monday, April 18. The Braves enter the challenge with a record of 1-5. Indian Creek lost 6-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Monrovia (Monrovia, IN)
