The Putnam County Panthers softball team scored 10 runs and limited the visiting Eureka Hornets to 0 in the Panthers non-league triumph on Saturday.

With the triumph, Putnam County improves its record to 3-2 on the year. The Panthers travel to Lowpoint-Washburn (Washburn, IL) to clash with the Wildcats in a Tri-County game on Tuesday, April 19. The Wildcats come into the game with a record of 0-9. Lowpoint-Washburn lost 16-4 in their recent league game against Woodland (Streator, IL)

In their next game, the Hornets clash with the Deer Creek-Mackinaw Chiefs (Mackinaw, IL) in a Heart of Illinois game, on Monday, April 18. Eureka will attempt to improve on its 2-4 season record. The Chiefs come into the game with a 1-9 record after their 8-3 league loss to Fieldcrest (Minonk, IL).
