North Boone Vikings (Poplar Grove, IL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Mendota Trojans (Mendota, IL), 11-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Vikings now sport a 8-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Oregon for a Big Northern challenge on Saturday, April 16. North Boone will face a Hawks squad coming off a 12-0 league win over Genoa-Kingston (Genoa, IL). The Hawks record now stands at 8-4.

With the loss, Mendota falls to 6-4 on the campaign. The Trojans travel to Princeton (Princeton, IL) to face the Tigers in a Three Rivers challenge on Monday, April 18. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 6-2.
