Portsmouth West Senators (West Portsmouth, OH) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Rowan County Vikings (Morehead, KY), 4-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Senators now sport a 12-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to South Webster for a Southern Ohio II challenge on Monday, April 18. Portsmouth West will face a Jeeps squad coming off a 5-0 non-league win over Dawson-Bryant (Coal Grove, OH). The Jeeps record now stands at 2-2.

With the loss, Rowan County falls to 8-6 on the campaign. The Vikings host Lewis County (Vanceburg, KY) to face the Lions in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 19. The Lions enter the challenge with a record of 14-1. Lewis County lost 7-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Nitro (Nitro, WV)
