South Williamsport Mountaineers (South Williamsport, PA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Warrior Run Defenders (Turbotville, PA), 11-8 in a non-league challenge.

The Mountaineers now sport a 4-3 record. They take the field next when they host Wellsboro for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 19.

With the loss, Warrior Run falls to 1-3 on the campaign. The Defenders host Loyalsock Township (Williamsport, PA) to face the Lancers in a Heartland II challenge on Thursday, April 21. The Lancers enter the challenge with a record of 3-0. Loyalsock Township won 14-0 in their recent league challenge against Hughesville (Hughesville, PA)
