The Lake Country Lutheran Lightning crushed the visiting St. Francis Mariners baseball team by a count of 10-3 in Tuesday's league bout.
The Lightning now possess a 6-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Catholic Central for a Midwest Classic bout on Thursday, April 18. Lake Country Lutheran will face a Hilltoppers team coming off a 22-0 league loss to Living Word Lutheran (Jackson, WI). The Hilltoppers record now stands at 1-4.
Next, the Mariners face the Brookfield Academy Blue Knights (Brookfield, WI) in a Midwest Classic bout, on Thursday, April 18. St. Francis will attempt to move on its 3-2 season record. The Blue Knights enter the bout with a 4-0 record after their 9-2 league win over St. John's Northwestern Military Academy (Delafield, WI).

After giving up a run in the top of the second inning, Lake Country Lutheran's bats exploded for 7 runs on 5 hits including doubles by Jackson Menzel (1 RBI) and Brendon Flinton (3 RBIs) and a triple from Preston Manthei (1 RBI). That was more than enough to back the strong starting pitching from Braden Theis (3 innings, 7 strikeouts) and relief pitching from Gavin Skrzypchak (2 innings, 4 strikeouts).
