West Springfield Spartans (Springfield, VA) fans were thrilled Tuesday as they observed their soccer team hold off the visiting Alexandria City Titans (Alexandria, VA), 2-1 in a league challenge.

Next, the Spartans face the Woodson Cavaliers (Fairfax, VA) in a Patriot challenge, on Thursday, April 18. West Springfield will attempt to better on its 3-4 season record. The Cavaliers enter the challenge with a 0-7 record after their 3-0 league loss to South County (Lorton, VA).
