Patrick Henry Patriots (Ashland, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Spotsylvania Knights (Spotsylvania, VA), 17-13 in a non-league challenge.

The Patriots now own a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they host Louisa County for a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 18. Patrick Henry will battle a Lions squad coming off a 17-0 non-league win over Eastern View (Culpeper, VA). The Lions record now stands at 8-1.

With the loss, Spotsylvania falls to 0-7 on the campaign. The Knights travel to Riverbend (Fredericksburg, VA) to battle the Bears in a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 18. The Bears enter the challenge with a record of 2-3. Riverbend won 31-14 in their recent non-league challenge against Massaponax (Spotsylvania, VA)
