North Newton Spartans (Morocco, IN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host South Central Satellites (Union Mills, IN), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 3-1 record. They take the field next when they host Frontier for a Midwest challenge on Thursday, April 18. North Newton will battle a Falcons squad coming off a 21-0 non-league loss to West Lafayette (West Lafayette, IN). The Falcons record now stands at 0-4.

With the loss, South Central falls to 6-1 on the campaign. The Satellites travel to Hebron (Hebron, IN) to battle the Hawks in a Porter County challenge on Wednesday, April 17. The Hawks enter the challenge with a record of 3-7. Hebron won 18-1 in their recent league challenge against Washington Township (Valparaiso, IN)
