The crowd at Wednesday's non-league battle between the St. John's Cadets (Washington, DC) and the host Gainesville Cardinals (Gainesville, VA), saw St. John's's baseball team get by Gainesville by a tally of 6-5.

The Cadets (20-1) will now prepare for their battle against Bishop McNamara (Forestville, MD). The Mustangs enter the Washington Catholic battle with a 6-11 record. In their last battle, Bishop McNamara held off Archbishop Carroll (Washington, DC), 16-1, in a league battle.

Next, the Cardinals face the Patriot Pioneers (Nokesville, VA) in a Cedar Run battle, on Wednesday, April 23. Gainesville will attempt to upgrade on its 10-2 season record.
