The Hammond Academy of Science & Tech Hawks softball team scored 19 runs and held the visiting Lake Station Edison Fighting Eagles to 0 in the Hawks non-league win on Wednesday.

The Hawks now sport a 2-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Marquette Catholic for a non-league battle on Tuesday, April 22. Hammond Academy of Science & Tech will encounter a Blazers team coming off a 14-4 non-league loss to Victory Christian Academy (Valparaiso, IN). The Blazers record now stands at 0-2.

With the loss, Lake Station Edison moves to 0-6 on the season. The Fighting eagles host Illiana Christian (Dyer, IN) to encounter the Vikings in a Greater South Shore battle on Monday, April 21. The Vikings come into the battle with a record of 3-3. Illiana Christian lost 12-2 in their recent non-league battle against Chesterton (Chesterton, IN)
