In Monday's non-league battle, the host George C. Marshall Statesmen soccer squad scored a close 6-0 win over the Mount Vernon Majors.
The Statesmen (5-2) will now prepare for their bout against Woodson (Fairfax, VA). The Cavaliers enter the non-league bout with a 3-2 record. In their last bout, Woodson was overwhelmed by McLean (McLean, VA), 2-1, in a non-league bout.
In their next game, the Majors confront the Lewis Lancers (Springfield, VA) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, April 25. Mount Vernon will attempt to move on its 0-4 season record. The Lancers enter the bout with a 1-6 record after their 1-1 non-league Yorktown (Arlington, VA).
