The Hempfield Area Spartans lacrosse team scored 12 points and held the visiting Canon-McMillan Big Macs to 9 in the Spartans league win on Monday.
The Spartans (5-2) will now prepare for their game against Mt. Lebanon (Pittsburgh, PA). The Blue Devils go into the WPIAL 3A 1 game with a 7-1 record. In their last game, Mt. Lebanon nudged Upper St. Clair (Upper St. Clair, PA), 18-15, in a league game.
The Big Macs (3-6) will now prepare for their game against Baldwin (Pittsburgh, PA). The Highlanders go into the WPIAL 3A 1 game with a 0-7 record. In their last game, Baldwin by Penn-Trafford (Harrison City, PA), 17-8, in a non-league game.
